St Kilda Sea Baths Etiquette Guide
- Please ensure you wear appropriate swimwear. Street clothes, long pants or underwear (other than for cultural reasons) are not acceptable swimwear.
- Children under the age of ten must be supervised by an adult at all times.
- Babies and toddlers need to wear an aqua nappy at all times.
- Please shower prior to entering the pool or steam room.
- Mobile phones or cameras are not permitted for use in the St Kilda Sea Baths; this is due to privacy of our patrons.
- Lockers are provided; South Pacific Health Club takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
- Please do not leave your belongings on the benches or seats.
- For the enjoyment of other patrons, please ensure your noise level is of acceptable standard.
- Children over the age of five are encouraged to use same gender change rooms. Families may also use the All Abilities/Disabled change rooms as a family change room.
- Exfoliating or shaving is not permitted in the pool or steam rooms.
- Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the steam room.
- For your safety is it recommended that persons do not exceed 15 minutes in the steam room and Hydrotherapy/spa pool. If using these facilities you should ensure you are drinking plenty of water to maintain your hydration levels.
- Please return any equipment borrowed to the Lifeguard on duty.
- Glassware and the consumption of food is not permitted in the pool area for safety and hygiene reasons.
- Please do not sit on lane ropes.
- Follow the directions of the Lifeguard at all times.
Lap Swimming Etiquette Guide
- Always swim to the left and stay close to the lane rope.
- Swim in a single file.
- Be aware and considerate of other swimmers in your lane.
- Avoid standing at the end of the lanes; ensure swimmers are able to complete a turn in the middle of the lap lane.
- Be aware of your speed, faster stokes such freestyle, should use either medium or fast lanes, whilst slower strokes such as breaststroke should use the medium or slow lanes. The same applies to kickboard drills.
- Leave five seconds between each swimmer. This should allow for continuous swimming, if you need to rest move to the side of lane.
Trading hours
Monday to Thursday 5.30am to 10.00pm
Friday 5.30am to 9.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 8.00am to 8.00pm
Please note the Sea Baths, hydrotherapy spa and steam room will close 15 minutes prior to the above times. This is to allow for showering/changing before the club closes.
Management reserves the right to refuse entry.
